Set up Folder and Windows Access Permissions in QB Desktop

As QB software is very common software dealing with accounting and finance in business. How to Set up Folder and Windows Access Permissions in QB Desktop

For setting up folder and window access permission in QB desktop you need to follow these steps as follows-

Step 1- Install QB database server manager

·       For installing QB desktop go to intuit official website.

·       Download the latest version of QB desktop.

·       Open the downloaded file.

·       Follow the instruction which you see on screen in correct sequence and type your license product number.

·       Now choose custom or Network option as install type.

·       Click on next and choose the option of your company file you are sharing over the network.

·       Follow the given instruction as shown on screen and tap install to complete the process.

Step 2- Scan your company file folders

·       To scanning your company file folder go to the start menu and search Database.

·       Navigate the QB database server manager.

·       Now select the scan folder option to continue the process.

·       Choose the location in which you wish to save your folder.

·       Click on OK to continue.

·       If any requirement you can add more folders by adding add more folder.

·       Click on scan option.

·       Once done the process close it.

Step 3- Set up Folder Access Permission for Company Files

·       For set up folder access permission for company file first you need to open your server and find the location of your company file.

·       Right click on the folder that stores your company files and click on the Properties option.

·       Now go to the security option and click on the edit option.

·       Click on QBDataServiceUserXX any version of QB Database Server Manager which are running on your system.

·       Click on the Full control option and click on allow.

Now click apply and Tap OK to complete the process.
